Plantadon — Privacy Policy

Plantadon ("we", "our", "us") is a vegan ingredient scanner app for Android. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is used.

1. Data We Collect

• Account information — if you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name and email.
• Scan history — barcodes you scan, the verdict returned, and the timestamp of each scan. This is stored server-side and linked to your account if you are signed in.
• Subscription status — whether you hold an active Plantadon Pro subscription, managed via RevenueCat.
• Device identifier (anonymous use) — if you use Plantadon without creating an account, your device generates a random identifier that is stored on your device and sent with your scan requests. This lets us show you your own recent scan history without requiring an account, and keeps your scans separate from those of other users. This identifier is a random value — it is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites. If you later create an account, your anonymous scan history is not carried over.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide scan verdicts and ingredient analysis
• To display your scan history within the app
• To verify your Pro subscription status
• To authenticate your account securely via AWS Cognito

3. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not serve ads and do not share your data with advertisers
• We do not sell your data to any third party
• We do not collect location data
• We do not access your camera roll or any data beyond what the camera captures during a scan session
• The anonymous device identifier is not used for cross-app tracking, advertising, or profiling

4. Third-Party Services

• AWS Cognito — handles account authentication. AWS Privacy Policy

5. Data Retention

Your scan history and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Anonymous scan history associated with a device identifier is retained until the app's data is cleared or the app is uninstalled from the device.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. You can clear anonymous scan history at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings or uninstalling the app.

7. Children

Plantadon is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
